Matt Coyle has contributed to a handful of anthologies that reflect different sides of his work. Coast to Coast: Private Eyes from Sea to Shining Sea brought together private investigator stories from across the country, a natural fit for the author of the Rick Cahill series. Stop the World collected fiction written in response to the pandemic, while Promophobia addressed the business side of crime writing.
Coast to Coast (2017) featured PI fiction set in different American cities, and Coyle’s contribution drew on the San Diego backdrop of his Rick Cahill novels. Promophobia (2022) is the odd one out since it is non-fiction, offering practical guidance on book promotion for crime fiction authors. The three anthologies span five years and show Coyle engaging with the crime fiction community beyond his novel-length work.
