John F. MacArthur Jr. is an American pastor, author, and theologian who has been one of the most prolific writers in evangelical Christianity. He has served as pastor-teacher of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California since 1969 and is the president of The Master’s Seminary and The Master’s University.
MacArthur has written or edited over 385 books spanning Bible commentaries, study guides, theology, devotionals, and practical Christian living. His MacArthur New Testament Commentary series provides detailed verse-by-verse analysis across 39 volumes, while the MacArthur Bible Studies series covers both Old and New Testament books in over 130 study guides. His non-fiction work addresses a wide range of topics, from the authority of Scripture to parenting, leadership, and contemporary cultural issues. The MacArthur Study Bible, first published in 1997, remains one of the most widely used study Bibles in print.
