Jamie Magee’s Young Blood, Rebel Heart series includes four novels. Impulsion (2014) opens the series, followed by Southern Friction (2015), Disengaged (2016), and Deploy (2016).
The series blends paranormal elements with new adult romance, a combination Magee has explored across several of her other series as well. Impulsion sets up the central characters and the supernatural rules of the world, while Southern Friction takes the story in a more emotionally charged direction. The final two books, Disengaged and Deploy, both arrived in 2016 and bring the arc to a close.
Readers who enjoy Magee’s Insight or Ember series will find a similar style here, though the Young Blood, Rebel Heart books lean more heavily into the romance side. The four-book length keeps the story tight compared to some of her longer-running series.
