The Winter series by Elin Hilderbrand is a four-book sequence of Christmas novels set on Nantucket, Massachusetts. The books follow the Quinn family across four consecutive holiday seasons, starting with Winter Street (2014) and continuing through Winter Stroll (2015), Winter Storms (2016), and Winter Solstice (2017).
Winter Street introduces Kelley Quinn, owner of the Winter Street Inn, and his large, complicated family. The first Christmas brings a love triangle, an unplanned pregnancy, a federal crime, a small house fire, and plenty of holiday caroling. Each subsequent book picks up the following year, checking in on the Quinns as old problems evolve and new ones appear. Hilderbrand has spent Christmas Stroll weekend on Nantucket since 1998, and that familiarity with the island shows in the detailed seasonal setting. The series was adapted for the stage by Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. Hilderbrand is one of the most widely read beach-read authors in the United States, and the Winter series shows her working in a holiday register rather than her usual summer mode.
