The Wingfeather Saga is set in the world of Aerwiar, where three siblings, Janner, Kalmar, and Leeli Igiby, live quietly with their mother Nia and grandfather Podo in the town of Glipwood. Their ordinary lives are upended when they learn that their family carries a royal secret connected to the lost Shining Isle of Anniera. The evil Fangs of Dang, lizard-like creatures who occupy the land of Skree, are searching for the Jewels of Anniera, and the Igiby children soon realize they are exactly what the Fangs are looking for.
The core series consists of four novels, from On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness through The Warden and the Wolf King, with companion books and anthologies expanding the world. The Wingfeather Tales volumes collect short stories from various authors set in the same universe. The series has also been adapted into an animated show by Angel Studios, with multiple seasons aired since 2022. Companion volumes like Pembrick’s Creaturepedia and A Ranger’s Guide to Glipwood Forest offer readers a deeper look at the flora, fauna, and geography of Aerwiar.
