James Reasoner’s Wind River series is a run of nine fiction novels that started publication in 1994. The first five books came out quickly, with Wind River, Thunder Wagon, and Wolf Shadow all appearing in 1994, followed by Medicine Creek and Dark Trail in 1995. After a long gap, Reasoner returned to the series with Judgment Day (2011) and Ransom Valley (2012), then added two more entries in 2020 with Outlaw Blood and Six-Gun Law.
The titles and setting suggest a Western-flavored series, and with nine books building on the same world, reading them in order is the best approach. New readers should start with Wind River and follow the publication sequence through to Six-Gun Law.
