The Will Trent series is Karin Slaughter’s longest-running and most popular series, following a GBI agent whose difficult childhood in the foster system shaped his approach to both work and relationships. Triptych introduced Will in 2006 and immediately set the tone for the series with its layered plotting and morally complicated cases.
The series gained additional depth when characters from Slaughter’s Grant County books began appearing, particularly Sara Linton, whose relationship with Will became a central thread. The books have been adapted into a television series, bringing Will Trent to a wider audience. With over twenty entries counting novels and shorter works, this is a substantial series, but new readers can start with Triptych and read forward in publication order.
