The Welkin Weasels series by Garry Douglas Kilworth is a children’s fantasy sequence spanning six books. Thunder Oak (1997) and Castle Storm (1998) launched the series, followed by Gaslight Geezers (2001), Heastward Ho! (2003), Windjammer Run (2011), and Vampire Voles (2011). The books feature weasels as their main characters in an alternate world that parodies human history and culture.
The series combines adventure with humor and has been compared to the Redwall books by Brian Jacques, though Kilworth’s tone is distinctly his own. The later entries appeared after a long gap, with the final two books published in 2011.
