Warren Peace is Bob Shaw’s foray into comic science fiction. The premise is simple and absurd: Warren Peace joins the Space Legion specifically to forget, only to discover he has already forgotten whatever it was he wanted to leave behind. Who Goes Here? (1977) sets up this gag and runs with it through a series of increasingly ridiculous military SF situations.
Warren Peace (1993) continued the story, and was later reissued as Warren Peace/Dimensions in 2012. The books showcase a lighter side of Shaw’s writing that longtime fans knew well from his Hugo-winning fan writing, translated here into full-length fiction.
