Uzma Jalaluddin’s five standalone novels are all contemporary romances with Muslim protagonists. Ayesha at Last (2019) retells Pride and Prejudice in the Toronto Muslim community and remains her most popular book. Hana Khan Carries On (2021) follows a podcaster whose family restaurant is threatened by a competitor. Much Ado about Nada (2023) reworks Shakespeare again, this time with a couple reuniting at a Muslim conference.
Three Holidays and a Wedding (2023), co-written with Marissa Stapley, is a holiday romance involving a Muslim and a Jewish family. Yours for the Season (2025) continues the seasonal romance direction. The novels share Jalaluddin’s interest in how Muslim characters navigate modern romance within their communities, but each tells a self-contained story.
