The Toys Trilogy, starting with Toys Go Out in 2006, follows StingRay, Lumphy, and Plastic, three toys who belong to a girl known only as the Little Girl. The books tell stories from the toys’ point of view, capturing their misunderstandings about the human world and their fierce loyalty to each other and to the Little Girl.
Emily Jenkins writes with warmth and gentle humor, and the toy characters have distinct personalities that drive the comedy and the heart of the stories. Toys Meet Snow (2015) expanded the series with a picture book format, bringing Paul Zelinsky’s illustrations to the beloved characters.
