The Total War Rome series consists of two novels by David Gibbins, written as tie-ins to Creative Assembly’s Total War strategy games. Destroy Carthage (2013) is set during the Third Punic War and follows a young Roman soldier caught up in the siege that ended Carthage. The Sword of Attila (2015) jumps forward to the fifth century and the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.
Note that the database listing shows Destroy Carthage twice under slightly different titles. These are the same book, not two separate novels. The series is a duology, not a trilogy, despite three entries appearing in the table above.
