Tom Gates is a school-age kid who would rather be drawing, eating snacks, and avoiding his annoying sister Delia than doing homework. Each book is presented as his personal notebook, packed with doodles, sticky notes, and comic-strip sequences that Liz Pichon draws herself.
The series started with The Brilliant World of Tom Gates in 2011 and has grown steadily since then. Pichon releases new entries regularly, with the most recent being Book of Everything! in 2024. The books are consistently funny and visually busy in a way that keeps young readers flipping pages. Tom Gates won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and has been translated into dozens of languages.
