The Tier One series launched in 2016 with Tier One, introducing John Dempsey, a Navy SEAL whose family is killed in a terrorist attack. Believed dead himself, Dempsey is recruited into Ember, a black-ops counterterrorism unit that operates outside normal military channels. The series follows Dempsey and his team through missions against terrorists, rogue state actors, and intelligence threats across the globe.
Andrews and Wilson draw on their own military experience to write action sequences and tactical detail that readers have praised for authenticity. The series has grown to ten books, with later entries like Dempsey (2023) and Ember (2024) deepening the characters while maintaining the fast pace. The Tier One universe has also spawned the prequel Tier One Origins: SCARS (2020).
