The Russians is a seven-book series begun by Judith Pella and Michael Phillips, set in 19th and early 20th-century Russia. The first three books, published between 1991 and 1992, were co-written, while the later volumes were completed by Pella, with three republished in 2015.
The series follows the Fedorcenko and Burenin families across decades of Russian history, from the era of Tsar Alexander II through the turmoil leading to revolution. The Crown and the Crucible introduces the two families, and subsequent books trace how political upheaval, war, and social change affect their intertwined lives. Faith and endurance are central themes throughout.
