The Runaways trilogy is set in and around New Orleans in the early 1800s. Day Dreamer (1996) opens in 1816 New Orleans and follows a protagonist drawn into the world beyond the city. Characters introduced here carry forward into the later books.
Just Once (1997) tells the story of Jemma O’Hurley, a spoiled New Orleans debutante. Blue Moon (1999) follows Noah LeCroix, who lives alone in the Louisiana swamp after suffering injuries tied to events in the previous book. The connected storylines make reading order matter here.
