The Ruins is a four-book post-apocalyptic series published between 2016 and 2018. The series follows survivors navigating a dangerous, ruined landscape.
T. W. Piperbrook wrote the first three books in quick succession, with The Ruins and The Ruins 2 arriving in 2016-2017 and The Ruins 3 following shortly after. The Ruins 4 (2018) closed out the story. Each book picks up where the last ended, making this a series best read straight through.
Piperbrook has written several post-apocalyptic and dystopian series, including the Sandstorm and Contamination books. The Ruins fits alongside those works, offering a bleak setting where survival depends on what the characters are willing to do. Horror elements run through all four volumes.
