The Reclusive Man series by Elissa Strati focuses on women who cross paths with men who have cut themselves off from the world. The 19 books, published between 2022 and 2024, use alliterative titles that pair each heroine’s name with a word describing her situation: Miriam’s Challenge, Renee’s Rescue, Evaline’s Grit.
The reclusive men have different reasons for their isolation, and it falls to the women to decide whether getting through to them is worth the effort. Some of the stories center on the woman’s determination, others on her own troubles, and some on the bargains and deals struck between the two leads. The final book, Samuel’s Sorrow, came out in 2024 after a gap, giving one last story to this collection of lone wolves and the women who refused to leave them alone.
