E.F. Benson created the Mapp & Lucia series in the 1920s and 1930s, centering on the social warfare between Emmeline Lucas (“Lucia”) and Miss Elizabeth Mapp in the fictional English village of Tilling. The original six novels are among the finest comic novels in English literature.
Tom Holt wrote several new entries in the series, picking up Benson’s style and continuing the petty feuds, garden parties, and one-upmanship that made the originals so entertaining. His contributions sit alongside the originals in this collected reading order.
