The Complete Stories of Theodore Sturgeon was edited by Paul Williams and published by North Atlantic Books, gathering Sturgeon’s short fiction in the order it was written. The project took 16 years from the first volume to the last, and each volume came with an introduction from a notable writer — among them Kurt Vonnegut, Samuel R. Delany, Connie Willis, and Gene Wolfe.
The volumes include stories that had not been easily accessible since their original magazine publication, making the series an important archival project as well as a reading collection. Individual volumes were issued both with their distinctive subtitle titles (The Ultimate Egoist, Microcosmic God, Killdozer!, and so on) and as numbered entries in the complete series.
