The Blackthorn Key series began in 2015 with its title novel and has continued through six books. Christopher Rowe, the protagonist, is an orphan apprenticed to Master Benedict Blackthorn, an apothecary in Restoration-era London. After his master is murdered by a secret society, Christopher uses the coded recipes, chemical knowledge, and puzzle-solving skills he learned to uncover conspiracies and survive.
Mark of the Plague (2016) sends Christopher into the Great Plague of London. The Assassin’s Curse (2017), Call of the Wraith (2018), The Traitor’s Blade (2021), and The Raven’s Revenge (2023) continue the adventures across Europe. Each book stands as its own mystery while building on Christopher’s larger story.
