The Arisen Worlds begins with The Girl Who Fell Into Myth (2023), in which the protagonist is pulled from everyday life into a strange land rooted in myth and folklore. She has no map and no allies, and the realm’s inhabitants are not sure what to make of her. As the series continues through Stranger in the Twisted Realm, Servant of the Lost Power, and Keeper of the Mythos Gate, the stakes rise as she learns more about the world’s origins and the ancient powers that are stirring beneath its surface.
Kay Kenyon brings her background in large-scale worldbuilding (from the Entire and the Rose quartet) to a more intimate, folklore-driven setting. The Arisen Worlds trades alien cosmology for mythic landscapes but keeps Kenyon’s focus on outsiders navigating unfamiliar societies and the political tensions that come with hidden power.
