The Angelic Letters is a seven-book series by Henry K. Ripplinger that tells the love story of Henry Pederson and Jenny Sarsky across several decades. It begins with Pewter Angels (2010), set in 1956 Regina, Saskatchewan, where the two teenagers meet and fall in love during a single summer. When Jenny’s family relocates, the pair is separated, and the rest of the series follows their individual lives as they grow up, marry other people, and carry an unresolved longing for each other through the years.
Faith is central to the story. Guardian angels watch over both characters, prayers are answered in tangible ways, and the question of whether Henry and Jenny will find their way back to each other is framed as part of a larger divine plan. The books move through the decades at a measured pace, covering family life, loss, aging, and spiritual growth along the way.
The series concludes with The Heart of an Angel (2018), wrapping up a story that spans more than half a century. Ripplinger drew on his own upbringing in Saskatchewan for the setting and atmosphere, giving the books a grounded, regional quality that readers of Canadian fiction will recognize. The series is best read in strict publication order, since each book picks up where the last one ended.
