WildStorm’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre comics series ran from 2007 to 2009, producing two collected volumes of horror comics set in the world of the franchise. The stories use the Sawyer family and the wider rural Texas setting to tell new horror narratives rather than adapting existing films, allowing the creative teams to explore different aspects of the mythology. The first volume collects the initial six-issue miniseries, while the second gathers follow-up material.
The comics draw on the visual and tonal language of the slasher genre, using Leatherface and his family as the central threat in original scenarios. WildStorm held licences for multiple horror franchises during this period, producing similar comics series for Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and other properties.
These two volumes represent a minor entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and will primarily appeal to completists and dedicated horror comics readers. The material is not considered part of any official film continuity.
