The Terrach Chronicles is a fantasy series by William King set in a world where the Terrarch, a long-lived elder race, rule over human subjects. The setting mixes Napoleonic-era military technology with sorcery and dragon-mounted warfare. Death’s Angels, the first book, appeared in 2005 and introduced a pair of human soldiers navigating the politics and battles of this declining empire.
The series ran to five books through 2008. King builds a society where racial tension between Terrarch and humans drives much of the conflict, alongside more conventional military threats. The flintlock fantasy setting gives the battles a different feel from his Warhammer work, with volley fire and cavalry charges alongside spells and flying mounts.
