David S. Brody launched this long-running series in 2009 with Cabal of the Westford Knight, in which attorney Cameron Thorne stumbles into a conspiracy involving ancient artifacts at the Newport Tower in Rhode Island. Joined by Amanda Spencer-Gunn, a British researcher with her own hidden connections to the Templar legacy, Thorne races to decode 600-year-old mysteries before those guarding the secrets can silence him. Each book in the series examines a different piece of the pre-Columbian puzzle, from the Ark of the Covenant to connections between the Templars, the Nazis, and the Vatican.
Brody uses his background as a director of the New England Antiquities Research Association to ground the fiction in real archaeological sites and artifacts. The series has grown to over 20 entries, with recent titles like Templar Lies exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and lost treasure. Publishers Weekly praised the series for wrapping serious research in a fast-paced thriller format, and fans of Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon novels will find a similar blend of history, conspiracy, and suspense here.
