The Teaville Moral Society series takes place in the fictional town of Teaville, Kansas, during the late 1800s. The town’s women have organized a moral reform society that aims to improve community standards, but the members soon find that their own lives are anything but straightforward. Each book follows a woman connected to the society as she confronts hard truths about herself and falls for someone who challenges her assumptions.
A Heart Most Certain (2016) opens the series with Lydia King, who seeks the society’s help only to discover that the man she has been warned about may be the most honorable person in town. The subsequent books continue to explore themes of judgment, grace, and second chances within the small-town Kansas setting. Jagears balances the social dynamics of the reform group with warm love stories that feel rooted in the period.
