The Swords of Albion series is set during the reign of Elizabeth I and follows Will Swyfte, England’s greatest spy, who fights threats both human and supernatural. The Silver Skull (2009) introduces a world where the supernatural exists alongside Elizabethan politics, and Swyfte must protect the realm from both.
The series continued with The Scar-Crow Men (2011) and The Devil’s Looking Glass (2012). Chadbourn combines his knowledge of mythology with the real intrigues of the Elizabethan court, creating adventure stories that sit between historical fiction and dark fantasy.
