Sword Ring and Chalice is a four-book fantasy series by Deborah Chester. The original trilogy – The Sword (2000), The Ring (2000), and The Chalice (2001) – tells a connected story about three powerful magical artifacts and the people who seek or wield them. The King’s Lady (2015) returned to the series more than a decade later.
The artifact-focused structure gives each book in the original trilogy its own center of gravity while telling a larger story about power, duty, and the costs of wielding magical objects. The series is one of Chester’s most recognized fantasy works and led into the related Dain series that followed.
