The Sun Symbol series connects two of Scott Sigler’s novels. EarthCore (2001), one of the first novels ever podcast, features a dangerous discovery deep underground. Mount Fitz Roy (2020) continues the story.
EarthCore follows a team that discovers a massive platinum deposit three miles below a mountain in Utah. What they find down there is far more dangerous than they expected. Sigler originally released the novel as a free podcast in 2005, making it one of the earliest examples of podcast fiction. He later revised and republished it as a print edition.
Mount Fitz Roy picked up the story nearly two decades later, moving the action to Patagonia. The long gap between books reflects how Sigler’s career evolved in the intervening years with the Infected trilogy and GFL series, but the Sun Symbol thread eventually brought him back to where his public career started.
