The Sullivan’s Crossing series by Robyn Carr is set at a campground and general store in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, run by the Sullivan family patriarch, Sully. What We Find (2016), the first book, follows Sully’s daughter Maggie, a neurosurgeon who retreats to Sullivan’s Crossing after burning out in her career. She meets Cal Jones, a man dealing with his own troubles, and their relationship grows against the backdrop of mountain life.
The remaining books, Any Day Now, The Family Gathering, The Best of Us, and The Country Guesthouse, follow other characters connected to the crossing. Each person arrives carrying some kind of burden and finds that the pace of mountain life and the support of a small community help them work through it. The series fits neatly into Carr’s established style of community-based romance with relatable characters facing real-life problems.
