The Stephen Kill series, written under the Hunter Morgan pen name, takes place in the fictional small town of Stephen Kill, Delaware. Both novels are psychological suspense stories that explore how violence can fester beneath the surface of a close-knit community.
Unspoken Fear opens when Rachel Gibson’s ex-husband Noah, a former reverend who went to prison for a drunk driving accident, is released and returns to their vineyard. As Noah tries to rebuild his life, a killer begins punishing local residents for their sins. Are You Scared Yet?, published more than a decade later in 2019, returns to the same town with a new set of characters and another chilling mystery. The books work well on their own, though both share the Stephen Kill setting and its atmosphere of small-town dread.
