This listing combines two distinct multi-author projects. The first eight entries are the Stellar Guild novellas (2011-2015), a series from Phoenix Pick that paired established science fiction and fantasy authors with newer writers. Each volume contains a novella by the established author alongside a companion piece by the newer writer, set in the same world. Contributors include Kevin J. Anderson, Robert Silverberg, and Larry Niven, among others.
The remaining entries are the Thieves’ World anthologies (1979-2004), a shared-world fantasy series created by Robert Asprin. Set in the disreputable port city of Sanctuary, each anthology collects stories by different authors who all write within the same setting, with characters crossing between stories. The original twelve-volume run (1979-1989) was followed by three revival volumes published by Tor in the early 2000s.
Both projects share a collaborative approach to storytelling, with multiple authors contributing to a shared framework. Jody Lynn Nye was among the writers involved in these projects, contributing to the tradition of multi-author speculative fiction that both series represent.
