The Star Trek: Voyager novel series began with the show’s 1995 premiere and accumulated a large library of tie-in fiction over the following decade. The early books, from Caretaker through the early 2000s titles, are episodic stories set during the original TV run. They cover the crew’s time in the Delta Quadrant and vary in tone and quality, as was typical for the tie-in fiction of that era.

Kirsten Beyer’s major contribution came with Full Circle in 2009, which launched a sustained post-series continuation following the Voyager crew after their return to Earth. The books that followed, including Unworthy, Children of the Storm, The Eternal Tide, and the titles through to Acts of Contrition, Atonement, A Pocket Full of Lies, and Architects of Infinity, form a coherent and developing story that gives the Voyager characters a genuine ongoing narrative rather than one-off adventures.

To Lose the Earth, published in 2020, is the most recent entry in the continuation series. The post-2009 Beyer novels are generally regarded as the most substantial Voyager fiction in the entire library, and readers who enjoyed the television series will find them a rewarding way to continue with those characters.
