Star Trek: Section 31 is a six-book fiction series that focuses on Starfleet’s secretive intelligence organization. The first four books, Rogue, Shadow, Cloak, and Abyss, all came out in 2001 and each approaches Section 31 from a different crew’s perspective within the Star Trek universe. The series then went quiet for over a decade before returning with Disavowed in 2014 and Control in 2017.
The long gap between the original quartet and the two later additions means the series spans 16 years in total. Readers interested in the morally gray side of the Star Trek setting will find that Section 31’s covert operations give these books a different tone from the more exploration-focused novels in the franchise.
