The Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries is one of Elizabeth Lynn Casey’s best-known series. Set in the fictional town of Sweet Briar, South Carolina, the twelve books follow a group of women whose weekly sewing circle meetings keep getting interrupted by murder. Sew Deadly (2009) introduces librarian Tori Sinclair and the other members of the circle.
The series ran through 2017, with each title playing on sewing terminology: Death Threads, Pinned for Murder, Deadly Notions, Dangerous Alterations, and so on. The series combines Southern charm, crafting, and cozy mystery conventions in a way that gave it a steady readership across its eight-year run.
