The Soldiers of Fortune series collects eight Palmer romances featuring military men and mercenaries as heroes. Starting with Fortune’s Hero and Soldier of Fortune (both 1985), the series follows tough men who live by their own code and fall for women who can handle their dangerous lifestyles.
The mercenary and military angle gives these books a different flavor from Palmer’s ranch-set romances. There is more action and suspense mixed in with the love stories, and the heroes tend to be even more hard-edged than her cowboys and ranchers. Several titles overlap with the Rawhide & Lace series.
