Skye’s Legacy by Bertrice Small picks up where the Skye O’Malley Saga and Wyndham Saga leave off, following the next generations of Skye O’Malley’s descendants during the Stuart period. The series opens with Darling Jasmine (1997), which follows Skye’s granddaughter Jasmine as she is pursued by King James I himself. Subsequent books focus on Jasmine’s children and their romantic entanglements amid the political turmoil of 17th-century England and Scotland.
The first six books (Darling Jasmine through Vixens) also overlap with the Wyndham Saga and deal primarily with the Stuart court and the English Civil War. Starting with Rosamund, the series shifts to the Friarsgate estate in northern England, introducing a new family line. These final four books (Rosamund, Until You, Philippa, and The Last Heiress) are shared with The Friarsgate Inheritance series, which continues the Friarsgate story with the Channel books.
Readers who are new to Small’s interconnected world should start with the Skye O’Malley Saga before picking up Skye’s Legacy, since the family relationships and historical context build across both series.
