The Skinjacker trilogy opens with Everlost (2006), where Nick and Allie die in a car accident and find themselves in a strange afterlife called Everlost — a place populated by the spirits of children who didn’t quite make it to the next world. Some of these spirits, called Skinjackers, can possess the living.
Everwild (2009) and Everfound (2011) expand the mythology and raise the stakes as different factions within Everlost compete for power. The series blends fantasy, horror, and philosophical questions about death and what comes after into a story that stays grounded in its young characters.
