The Shrap Nelson series by Biba Pearce starts with Rough Justice (2024). Shrap Nelson is a former military police sergeant who ended up homeless after leaving the service. Living rough in London, she stumbles into violent crimes that the police either miss or ignore.
The premise gives Pearce a different angle on London crime fiction. Nelson sees the city from the ground level, and her military training makes her more capable than the criminals expect. The series has two entries so far.
