Secrets of Stone is the first of Angel Payne’s co-authored series with Victoria Blue, nine books building the romance between Claire Montgomery and Killian Stone from No Prince Charming (2014) through No Longer Lost (2019). The series uses the Cinderella retelling structure — a woman from outside the world of wealth and privilege drawn into the life of a powerful man — as the framework for a high-heat romance.
No Prince Charming establishes both characters and the attraction between them. The series develops that relationship across the full nine-book arc, with the “No ___” title structure running throughout and signaling the series’ consistent tone — contemporary and knowing about the romance conventions it is simultaneously working within and reframing.
The collaboration between Payne and Blue continued with the Shark’s Edge series, which shares the contemporary business romance territory of Secrets of Stone with a new cast.
