Scott Sigler’s standalone novels span his career. Earthcore (2001) was a breakthrough as one of the first novels released as a podcast. Ancestor (2007) explores genetic engineering, Nocturnal (2012) goes underground in San Francisco, and Warpath (2026) is his latest.
Earthcore started as a self-published novel that Sigler later released as a free podcast, building the audience that would support his career. Ancestor deals with scientists who create transgenic animals, and the experiment goes badly wrong. Nocturnal is set beneath San Francisco and mixes horror with police procedural elements. The Crew (2008) and Kissyman & the Gentleman (2019) round out the standalone list between those early titles and Warpath.
Each of these novels stands on its own without connection to Sigler’s series work like the Infected trilogy or GFL. Readers looking for a single entry point into his writing will find any of these standalones a good place to start, though Earthcore and Ancestor remain the most popular choices.
