The Scot Harvath series is one of the longest-running political thriller franchises in American fiction. The Lions of Lucerne (2001) introduces Harvath as a Secret Service agent protecting the President. By Path of the Assassin (2003), he has moved into covert intelligence work, and the rest of the series follows his missions against terrorists, foreign agents, and shadowy conspiracies.
Brad Thor publishes one Harvath novel each year, and the series has grown to 30 entries through Choke Point (2026). The books are designed to be read in order, as Harvath’s personal life and professional relationships develop across the series. Several short stories and novellas, including Free Fall (2013) and The Athens Solution (2015), fill in gaps between the main novels.
