Sarah Weinman has edited several standalone anthologies outside of the Akashic Noir series. These collections reflect her wide-ranging interests in crime fiction, literary history, and the intersection of art with storytelling.
Troubled Daughters, Twisted Wives (2013) collects forgotten domestic suspense stories by women writers from the mid-twentieth century. Inherit the Dead (2013) is a collaborative novel where twenty different crime writers each contributed a chapter. Sex, Thugs, and Rock & Roll (2009) gathers crime stories with a music-world edge. Alive in Shape and Color (2017) takes a different approach, pairing fiction writers with works of visual art to create stories inspired by specific paintings and photographs.
