The Saga of the de Magela Family is Abigail Keam’s historical fiction series, set in medieval Portugal. Five books, all titled “Wall of…” something, follow the de Magela family through generations of war, political maneuvering, and survival on the Iberian Peninsula. The series ran from 2013 to 2018.
This is the most different thing in Keam’s catalog. Where her mystery series are set in modern Kentucky or 1930s America, these books go back centuries and across the Atlantic. The scope is broader and the tone is darker than her cozy mystery work.
