Saga is widely considered one of the best comics of the 2010s. Created by Brian K. Vaughan and artist Fiona Staples, it launched in 2012 and tells the story of two lovers from warring alien species trying to raise their child while on the run. The series mixes space opera with family drama, humor, and genuine emotional weight.
The series went on hiatus from 2018 to 2022, returning with new volumes that continued the story. It has won numerous Eisner and Harvey Awards. With 14 volumes published through 2025, Saga continues to push the boundaries of what mainstream comics can be, tackling war, parenthood, loss, and love without flinching.
