Sabbat Worlds Crusade is a three-volume collection of Warhammer 40,000 fiction by Dan Abnett set in the same warzone as his long-running Gaunt’s Ghosts series. The volumes cover the broader Sabbat Worlds campaign, the massive Imperial military operation that forms the backdrop to the Gaunt’s Ghosts books, through different perspectives and formats.
Double Eagle, published in 2004, is a standalone novel following Imperial Navy fighter pilots during the Crusade. Titanicus, published in 2008, focuses on Titan war engines and the crews who pilot them. The Sabbat Worlds Crusade book from 2005 is a companion volume providing background, maps, and lore for the wider campaign setting. Together the three books flesh out the military and political context surrounding the Gaunt’s Ghosts stories.
All three volumes are listed in the reading order table below. Readers of Gaunt’s Ghosts will find the Sabbat Worlds material an enriching companion, while new readers can approach Double Eagle and Titanicus as entry points to Abnett’s Warhammer 40,000 universe.
