The Risdaverse series by Ruby Dixon is her largest interconnected sci-fi romance saga outside of Ice Planet Barbarians. Set in a galaxy where humans are a minority species among dozens of alien races, the series follows human women finding love with alien partners in settings that range from prison planets to space stations. The “When She” titles (When She Purrs, When She Belongs, When She Dances, and many more) make up the bulk of the series.
With twenty books published between 2017 and 2025, the Risdaverse has grown steadily. Prison Planet Barbarian and The Alien’s Mail-Order Bride were among the earliest entries, while newer additions like When She Wishes and When She’s Stuffed arrived in 2025. Each book focuses on a standalone romance, but the shared universe means characters and locations recur. The series gives Ruby Dixon room to explore different alien cultures and relationship dynamics while keeping the warm, character-driven tone her readers expect.
