Reggie Nadelson’s non-fiction writing covers three books published between 2009 and 2021. The first, Comrade Rockstar, tells the story of Dean Reed, an American who became a rock star in the Soviet Union. The other two books turn to New York City: At Balthazar (2017) focuses on the famous brasserie, while Marvelous Manhattan (2021) collects stories about the restaurants, bars, and shops that give the city its character.
These are standalone works that can be read in any order. A clear thread runs through Nadelson’s non-fiction interests, though, connecting Cold War-era culture with the food and social scenes of modern New York.
