Rose Allen grew up under the authority of an abusive father and arrived at Red Rose Academy in New Orleans expecting the school to be an escape. Instead, she finds that old grudges follow people through any set of gates, and that the academy’s rules bind students just as tightly as anything she left behind. The school exists inside a rigid vampire hierarchy that has always decided which women belong to which men, and Rose has no intention of accepting that arrangement.
She is half-vampire and half-witch, a combination that already sets her apart. The romantic conflict runs through two vampires, one a prince her father wants her to choose for political reasons, the other an outlaw who offers something harder to define. When her father and a Dark Demon steal a powerful diary with plans to overthrow the vampire kingdom, Rose goes from navigating academy politics to being at the center of a power struggle that could change her whole society.
The six-book series ran through 2023 and builds out its own mythology around vampire bloodlines, witch magic, and the mechanics of a supernatural court. Rose’s refusal to accept the role carved out for her drives the series as much as the romance does, giving the books a throughline that runs from the first page to the conclusion of the arc.
